Thank goodness the trans fad is fading away. Look at this data:
| Time / Source | Age Range | % Identifying as Transgender |
|---|
| Year 2000 | Not available | — (No data) |
| 2023 YRBS Survey (high schoolers) | ~14–18 (Grades 9–12) | 3.3% |
According to this chart, in three years, the percentage of teens identifying as trans MORE than doubled. Children were being encouraged, and pushed to be trans. Every kid struggling to figure out who they are were being "counseled" and told "maybe you're trans." Downright evil.
| Williams Institute Estimate (~2020) | 13–17 (teens overall) | 1.4% |
Yeah, but the difference is "identifying" and actually chopping off appendages? Bit of a difference there?
As long as humans have lived in modern, pluralistic societies there have been all different types of identity confusion. Nothing new here accept a more overly permissive attitude towards allowing youngsters to identify. The same way that conservatives once terrorized people like was too much for most people, this overly permissive attitude now days is too much for people. So things settle homeostasis.
The American people in poll after poll say the same exact thing on this issue. The want freedom for adults to do as they choose and restraints on kids doing as the choose. What we need is more education on why kids feel like this (they are growing, learning, becoming people in a world that is confusing to them). What the kids and all people DO NOT need is the almost evil hatred of the right wing towards people who feel conflicted.
There is a deep ugliness at the root of the conservative movement. Especially regarding this issue. They can hide it for an election or two, but eventually the American people see the hate behind it.
