Agreed. The US was never a victim. Just dumb. Perhaps asymmetric trade deals made sense post-WWII, when Europe is in rubble. But that was 80 years ago.
Correct, but all along the US has nevertheless agreed to every trade deal it’s ever entered into. Even less than “optimal” (depending on who is asked), every deal has always been a perceived strategic move for geopolitical influence, market access and domestic economic growth. Trump is always singing a cry-me-a-river song.

Thank goodness the trans fad is fading away. Look at this data:

Time / SourceAge Range% Identifying as Transgender
Year 2000Not available— (No data)
2023 YRBS Survey (high schoolers)~14–18 (Grades 9–12)3.3%

According to this chart, in three years, the percentage of teens identifying as trans MORE than doubled. Children were being encouraged, and pushed to be trans. Every kid struggling to figure out who they are were being "counseled" and told "maybe you're trans." Downright evil.
Williams Institute Estimate (~2020)13–17 (teens overall)1.4%

Yeah, but the difference is "identifying" and actually chopping off appendages? Bit of a difference there?

As long as humans have lived in modern, pluralistic societies there have been all different types of identity confusion. Nothing new here accept a more overly permissive attitude towards allowing youngsters to identify. The same way that conservatives once terrorized people like was too much for most people, this overly permissive attitude now days is too much for people. So things settle homeostasis.

The American people in poll after poll say the same exact thing on this issue. The want freedom for adults to do as they choose and restraints on kids doing as the choose. What we need is more education on why kids feel like this (they are growing, learning, becoming people in a world that is confusing to them). What the kids and all people DO NOT need is the almost evil hatred of the right wing towards people who feel conflicted.

There is a deep ugliness at the root of the conservative movement. Especially regarding this issue. They can hide it for an election or two, but eventually the American people see the hate behind it.

The Bugis people of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, recognize five distinct genders.

This has been going on for at least 6 centuries - It's not liberal and it's certainly nothing "new" or "woke"

makkunrai (cisgender women)
oroané (cisgender men)
calabai (transgender women)
calalai (transgender men)
bissu (androgynous/intersex shamans)

And…. let’s not leave the ever present Jews without mention.

ChatGPT:

The Talmud, a foundational text of Rabbinic Judaism, recognizes more than two genders. It discusses at least six distinct gender categories, reflecting a nuanced understanding of human embodiment and identity in Jewish law (Halakha). These categories include:

  1. Zachar (זָכָר) – Male
  2. Nekeva (נְקֵבָה) – Female
  3. Androgynos (אַנְדְּרוֹגִינוֹס) – A person with both male and female physical sexual characteristics
  4. Tumtum (טֻומְטוּם) – A person whose sexual characteristics are indeterminate or obscured
  5. Ay'lonit (אַיְלוֹנִית) – A person who is identified as female at birth but does not develop secondary female sex characteristics at puberty and is infertile (often interpreted today as potentially intersex or transmasculine)
  6. Saris (סָרִיס) – A person who is identified as male at birth but does not develop male secondary sex characteristics at puberty or is castrated (subdivided into: saris hamah – naturally occurring; saris adam – caused by human action)
These categories appear in various legal discussions in the Mishnah, Talmud, and later Rabbinic literature. While these discussions were framed in legal and ritual terms rather than modern notions of gender identity, they demonstrate that classical Jewish texts recognized a spectrum of sex and gender diversity.

I promised not to come back to this thread, because of politics and ignorance, but now it’s about biology and woke ideology and I’m not surprised that the 3 of you are all about pushing a slew of different genders.

Notice how the thread died when y’all went full retard?

There is male.
There is female.
There is the uber rare intersex which always has a dominant gender.

And then there is mental illness and bad parenting, which accounts for trannies and all the other fucked up weird ass make believe bullshit that you 3 are espousing.

Y’all are citing religions now as backup for gender ideology? lol. Clowns. All of you who believe the liberal gender shit show have just invalidated every other post you’ve ever made here.

SAD...LOL. Full retard. I was saving that!

Seriously: Great mentions on global powerhouses that recognize a bunch of genders. History is full of great nations and peoples that could not determine gender.
I am sure there is a list somewhere but it was scrubbed from the internet.

Indonesia? Global powerhouse. Huge military. Global leader in _______________.
Israel. Was dispersed until very recently on an historical basis. Powerful because of the USA and NATO (which is the USA.) My bet is that it will be dispersed again.

Personally? I don't want to be perfect. There is a book about a perfect man and the world killed him. Seems to be a pattern.
So, I will stay comfortably imperfect but try to do a little better every day. I appreciate the information and range of opinions. It is my theory of Disagreement Confirmation Bias. Choose the right people to listen to and it will confirm my biases.

Now, can everyone agree that we need a global biometric ID system and one digital currency. This will be for our own good. Think how easy it will be for all of us to buy and sell with this digital "currency." I am looking for consensus and topics that will unite us all.

Part of me hopes every Trumpie gets to experience having a child or grandchild someday who experiences some type of identity issue. It will soften you a bit.

Nobody is arguing for chopping off little Johny's penis and calling him Sally. But for Christ's sake, do all Trumpies have to be such callous, hateful pieces of shit with closed minds??

Trump is now saying that the Epstein list is "made up."

Looks like lots of child rapists (like Trump, Clinton and Bill Gates) will breath easier now that the list is just fabricated.

not true. there is no evidence that Trump or any member of his administration has engaged in sexual activity with a minor. There has been, however, an extraordinary amount of Trump's political opposition that have insinuated that. Just saying it over and over does not make it true.

The entire gender-affirming care issue (gender mutilation of minors) is being swiftly swept under the rug. Just a year ago, a doctor was fired and was being further disciplined in Texas by his hospital network because he blew the whistle on the continuing gender affirming care being provided at the hospital after it was prohibited in Texas and after the hospital network had denied it was doing it. They went after him because they alleged that his act of whistleblowing violated HIPPA rules. Those charges have now been dropped, but remember that the process is the punishment.

Boston Children's Hospital was found to have fast-tracked child mutilation at their facility.

And the recent US Supreme Court case of US v. Skrmett was all about whether a state legislature could ban gender-affirming care in their state. Who was opposed? A whole cadre of people... that's why it went all the way to the Supreme Court. BTW, the Supremes held that a state legislature can legislate w.r.t. child mutilation.

Don't forget, just 18 months ago, people that objected to gender affirming care were labeled as haters, bigots, and the cause of the high trans suicide rate.

Did you read my Talmud post? You must be “antisemitic” SAD
Lighthearted. That aside, I think you’re much too emotionally personal about posts regarding the political content. I get it. I’ll engage / participate up to a point, but politics / gov’t in general is extremely low on my give-a-real-fuck list.
Also, I’m pretty sure your take on my Jewish / religion post misunderstands the context, reason of my post — I’m not pro-Jewish for the most part, and the post wasn’t / isn’t co-signing their take - I added it because Judaism is an influential world religion and I wanted to add their take on the gender issue to illustrate how they validate a multitude.
