Major props on really trying to grind through on that last rep. That's some serious mental strength.

Thanks Chris, my coach told me later that I should keep my head up even though I missed the lift. He said I never quit and had the heart of a lion trying to make it happen. It means a lot to me cause I really felt like I let him down. Next meet I'm going to open with that 120, wait & see!

Today was the last day to "play around" before we start training again on Monday. The gym will be closed for a few days and I'm actually feeling pretty beat up today so the forced break will probably be a good thing for me. My work will keep me on my feet squatting and lunging enough to make up for the training reprieve.

Today was legs.
Leg Press 250/5 275/5 300/5 330/5
Front squats 65/5 75/5 85/5
Good mornings 65/5 80/5 95/5
Straight arm lats 5x3p 5x3.5p 5x4px2
GHR's "ghetto" style 3x10

Spending the rest of the week focusing on rest, recovery and nutrition. Gota get the diet back in check for a bit.

Today started a 5 week high rep cycle. Wow! What a shock to the system that is after weeks of low rep cycles. I may have to invest in a good intra workout support for this go around. The end goal for week 5 is 5 sets of 12 but as for this morning not so much:

Bench 65/10 75/10 85/10 95/8
Incline bench 65/10 70/10 75/10
Standing shoulder press 50/10 55/8 55/8
Delt raise combo 3x10x8#
Triceps: Cable kickbacks 5x10x2p

Congrats on a fine meet. You'll do well in this sport. One thing I noticed..and please..I'm no world class bencher..have you tried a wider grip on your bench? To me..my opinion..it looks like it's too narrow and using more triceps. I found if I go a little wider it incorporates more of my back and shoulders which made a huge difference.

Keep up the great work. (If you get a chance read Ryan Kenneley's Bench Monster. It helped me quite a bit.)

Hey A1, thanks I really love this sport! You're not the first to mention my elbows, it is something I will be working on as I get ready for Oct. I'm going to check out that book also. Thanks again.

Finished Wed night w/asst'd pullups 3x10 w/10p assistance <-52#> so 101#

Today was pulls:
Cable rows 5x12 @ 4p, 4 1/2p, 5p, 5 1/2p, 6p
Thick bar BOR 4x12 @ 50, 55, 60, 65
St. Arm Lat pulldowns 4x10 (1)3p, (3)4p
Shrugs 5x10 @ 95, 100, 105, 110 & 115
Band pull aparts 4x25 w/20# band

Ok, here's a loaded question..why is pulling so much harder than pushing?

I got my ASS kicked today!

Floor press 95/6x6 s/s w/plyo pushups (claps) 6x3

Suicide sled pushes 3 sets w 125# sled @ 350'
Very 1st time in my life I thought I would lose my cookies while training. I kept telling myself "you want a 3plate deadlift? do the work to get there" it sucked but I finished and my legs are still burning!
