I squat low bar/medium stance/below parallel. I figure I get the most bang for my buck doing it that way, and generate the most force out of the hole like that. I think alot of squat style, and depth depends on body type, and training goals. Olympic lifter squat narrow, and high bar cause they have to drop way down, recieve the bar in a hurry, and come up with it from the bottom. Powerlifters squat low bar, and generally wider in order to use more posterior chain to move more weight , and squat to legal depth.

Just use whats more efficient for you , and if worse comes to worse do both. Cant go wrong that way. Use one for a main movement one wave, and one as an assistance movement, and vice versa. As far as carry over, generally a wider pl squat has more carry over to a sumo style pull. Not sure if an oly squat has more carryover to a conventional deadlift, but if it aint broke, dont fix it.
