I think within parts of the community there is still this belief that lower SHBG = Higher free test = bigger gains -the end-, which there is some validity to reducing SHBG but the body likes certain things in ratios and that is often disregarded I feel.
I know years and years ago in some of my circles there was this belief that you keep estrogen as low as possible without completely crashing it because "estrogen bad!" but again its about ratios, and the positive effects estrogen has on say lipids was either not known at the time or dismissed.
I think it's more that people believe that once Test is bound to SHBG, that that's the death of the testosterone, which simply isn't the case.
The SHBG is a transporter, it will release the testosterone, it's not locked away forever.
