Borrowed from theChive...
"54-year-old Rooie Marck was suffering from a terminal disease and doctors only gave him a few days to live. One of his last wishes: to see his favorite football team, Feyenoord, one more time.
The club arranged so he could watch the first training of the season from the dugout inside De Kuip Stadium. Marck was accompanied by his son and a few friends, while the majority of the Feyenoord supporters knew his story. So, on the 12th minute, all players stopped their exercises and turned their eyes, along with everyone else in the stadium, towards him.
At the same time a banner with Marck's figure appeared amongst fans lighting up green flares and smoke, his favorite colors, and singing "You'll Never Walk Alone".
Visibly touched by this gesture, Marck found the strength to stand up without any support and walk towards his fellow supporters. He was enthusiastically applauded by everyone in the stadium.
Three days later Marck passed away."
