I never got over 180 on flat bench when I started, had a preexisting shoulder injury.

Not very much I can say. I was 16 and weighed 145lbs. After a year I was pushing 185-190. I wanted to break the magic 200lb goal but didn't do that until later in life.

Started when I was about15. Weighed about 150 scrawny as shit benched 185 first time maxing out at bench. One year later I was up to 165lbs still scrawny benching 245. Senior year I was still small but not really scrawny just ultra lean. Weighed 185lbs benched 315.

Age 22- 205lbs 365 bench

Last year- after only 7
Months back lifting after a 6 year fatass spree, I weighed 230 down from 267. I reached a personal goal and broke the 400lb mark with a 425 bench

u want to know the truth about benching and weightlifters..and this is facts....i know many weightlifters that have trained for years and years and still cant bench 300...not even 275....i know this to be the truth....most the time if i ask someone what they bench they seem to allways throw 10 to 20 lbs more then they can really do...i can tell just by how many reps they can do with 225 and know around what they bench...u would figure if someone is benching 225 for 8 to 10 reps a set they should be able to atleast bench 285 0r 300...not the case for many lifters.....i see big ass BBs they can even bench 315 for 1...they wont even try when someone is around....bench is like this....u have it or u dont...some people just not cut to benach big...but yet they can shoulder press 185 for reps but still suck ass on the bench........dw

Started back last year after 22 years off, maxed 275 at start, maxed in December 425, I usually hit 315 8 to 9x. I have actually stopped with the flat bench with straight bar and am doing dumbbell flat bench I am at the present time doing the 125's 15x, the 115's 12x, 105's 12x and 95's 15x i do drop sets. will be grabbing the 130's tomorrow.

DW, that's the truth. At least for me. Pound for pound, I've got to be one of the weakest lifters I know. I'm at about 220 at only about 10-12%BF, so I look pretty darn strong. Put me on the flat bench, and I'd be happy to knock out 225 for 20 reps on my best day.

You know what they say, it's better to LOOK marvelous than to BE marvelous, LOL.

how you guys remember shit like this is beyond me. All I can manage to remember is doing 135 in high school, don't know which grade or any of that, how long lifting, or really ever trying heavier weight etc. I just know it was in the high school gym and i don't remember much of them days. What I do know is I'm a Shitty bencher and doubt I'll ever see the 400 mark.
