Crawford's footwork speed and timing told the story. Canelo had trouble landing while Crawford showed his mastery of fighting off his back foot as Canelo pressured. Incredible fight for Crawford.

After fight interview - Even after getting the brakes beat off him , the kids got class. An just tells it like it was.

Ya don't see a lot of this these days.

“I always tried, all the rounds I tried,” Canelo said. “But, you need to accept it, sometimes you cannot go. I never thought about [him beating me] because I cannot think that way. I tried my best tonight…. We knew Crawford is a great fighter and I did what I was supposed to do, right? I tried to do everything, trained really hard. He deserves all of the credit. I tried my best and I could not figure the style.”

Yep, no excuses. he has always pretty much been that way. Crazy how Crawford has lost zero speed at 37 years old. His footwork is a weapon. Most boxers make big-ish corrections and moves with their feet. He can make big moves but he also can slide just out of range and counter. Also his ability to move backwards and laterally and any combination of those is incredible. Canelo's style played perfectly into Crawford's. 42 wins zero losses, 31 by KO/TKO.

Floyd Mayweather Jr 27 wins, only 4 KO/TKOs and one of those vs Connor McGregor. Crawford has defense similar, certainly not the same as Floyd but he has power and Floyd does not. Just sayin.

Hell yeah man !

My Pops side of the family got here way earlier than my Mom's , Grandfather was a Golden Gloves Light HvyWt Champ for a while.

That's who taught us , used to take us to Costello's in Paterson cus he knew some of the guys there.

I used to be able to hold my own in a warehouse or parking lot , paid a few bills like that here n there but I am NOOOO boxer. I just got a thick head and left hand that lands like a cinderblock swung on a rope.

That's one of his medals in the middle.

Glad to see the occasional Boxing thread here.

Back when MMA became more marketable, and visible on Boards like this, Boxing had been the main combat sport since way b4 the pre-Boards years, or even b4 the WWII years ... so many Greats, too many "G.O.A.T"s since then. For the most part, it has only been mentioned online more recently when Tyson was still a real factor, or when Mayweather's polished defensive skills beat everyone he chose to face, or when a much older Tyson and Internet "Influencers" grabbed the headlines.

Kudos to Canello's career, and for his classy post-fight speech. Kudos to "Crawdaddy," as well, who is the new visibly mainstream "name" atm.

For reference, today's few remaining Boxing fans oughta search "Harry Greb," a man who fought many of Boxings' biggest stars in several weight classes, won many, lost more than a few, way back when he and other stars fought each other for pissant money multiple times x year. Note too that he fought the latter part of his career w/one blind eye he never disclosed ... so he could keep fighting.

I watched it. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to. It was a good display of boxing and I wanted Crawford to win. I think I personally just prefer the UFC by a lot.

Man i really thought Canelo was going to do better but he was frustrated a lot… the wife and i both said damn he simply just shook his head and walked away a couple times and looked defeated a lot thru the entire fight… he needs to hang it up AND NOT go fight jake paul… even if its a huge payday…

He couldn’t or wouldn’t throw any jabs. Crawford just had his number last night.

I got a few medals and a a boxing trophy, also a few Muay Thai and BJJ trophies. I was never good either but love doing it still. I just go to a boxing gym now. No more Muay Thai, way too hard on an old body.

I LOVE boxing. Always have. It is so much prettier than MMA which I also love. Back in 78' I watched Ali vs Spinks with my pops. I was hooked.

If you love watching fights, check out ONE championship friday night fights from Thailand. You can watch them Friday morning on youtube live. Ferocious battles.
