If that is his plan and his only option, what would you recommend (assuming you talk to him and get to know him)?
If thats his only option than so be it. But on less than 1,000 calories per day I fail to see how he is going to take in enough protein to maintain his muscle mass.

Sorry for the ignorance, but where is the 1000 cals coming from ? How is over 300g protein and 400g carbs only 1000 cals

I'm worried in advance if this makes me sound like an idiot lol

so remember along time ago when I use to do lyle mcdonald PSMF (protein sparing modified fast) he saw that...

and never saw how I lost 35lbs this year on 3500-4000 calories per day to get to 213lbs this spring.

I always say my log is like a movie. if you skip around it wont make sense. if you saw it from the beginning like you or yano, you saw me experiment and try all kinds of stuff some things worked, some things not as well.

It's my understanding that when you are on GH your T4 (see below) will be low no matter what. I was told to watch the T3 and make sure that stays in range and that one is.

I don't know if it's true.

seems plausible as an example my lh and fsh will never be in range again because of test without taking something to make them function

I used to eat only egg whites or chicken breast. with 1000 calories I could get close to 250g of protein per day.
You could, but every meal you have posted a pic of has been heavy on veg and carbs and almost no protein.
