Trolling the squat rack?

Hi everyone! Recently I've started to notice something at the gym that's quite discouraging. The past few leg days, I've noticed that there are older men who troll the squat racks when girls are using them. For example, a man, easily 10years older than my father, was sitting on a stability ball, full on staring while I squatted. I was not the only one, I have seen him do it to other girls as well. It's not only this one guy either, since noticing him, I've realized there's a generous group of men who also basically sit and watch the women. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, how did you handle it? I don't want to wrongly accuse someone of creeping, but I also want to feel comfortable in a gym that I'm paying to train at. I went as far as looking for a new gym, but I came to the conclusion that I don't want to leave a place I usually am very comfortable in and have made a lot of friends at. Help!?

I'd talk to the gym manager and tell him your concerns. My daughter had a similar issue at the gym we go to. (I wanted to go beat the guy to a bloody pulp, but my daughter talked me out of it) I talked to the manager and to his credit, he took care of it. It still happens to a certain extent, but at least they aren't so obvious about it.

I'm 51 and very few things piss me off more than seeing guys (young/old it doesn't matter) creeping on girls/women trying to work out. I mean really, go home and get on the internet and do what you have to do. But the gym is not the place for that...

Oh you noticed me? Sorry about that!
Kidding, I'm in my 30's and have no desire of looking at anything but the iron unless there's a big Camel Toe that I just can't ignore.

for a serious response now:
Speaking to a manager (not a general 19 year old staff member, but the GM or Assistant Manager) to mention that you are considering cancelling your membership because you feel uncomfortable and not able to focus on your training should alleviate the problem if it's that obvious.

The other option is: "excuse me sir, it's rude to stare, please keep your eyes off me, it's making me feel uncomfortable and I will notify management if it continues".....it's a bold move but it's better than "listen here m'fer, if my hubby/boyfriend finds out about you creeping on me, he's going to come here and drag you into his trunk, take you out to the woods, tie you to a tree, put a deer head on you and let the wolves enjoy dinner".

I prefer the latter but at least you have options.

Good luck and I'm sorry for what those creeps are doing to you.....makes me glad to have a twig and berries in times like these.

Tell the management. Tell them every time he does it. Or stare back at him, and then make a beeline to the front desk so he gets the hint. At the worst, they can keep an eye on the guy and see if he makes it a habit or it was truly just something that looked like it. We had a guy who would do that and several ladies complained about him and he was eventually booted. Chances are if you're noticing it, he's habitual and others are noticing it. From the mgmt side, if there are more individual reports of it, they will act.

Nobody needs that sort of shit in the gym. Sick ****ers.

Personally, I think you should confront the f ucker. Now, I'm not a girl but I'd call him out loudly about it. Make it embarrassing to him. If I was you, I'd loudly say something to the effect of..... do you like staring at my ass when I'm squatting you old piece of shit? Now, tact has never been my strong suit but I don't pussfoot around with bullshit. Just ask SS, lol. And you'd love what SS would have to say A LOT more. I think she'd probably take a 45lbs plate and throw it at him. I'm being serious about SS to. I've seen her do some crazy shit at the gym.

Loudly ask him in front of everyone if he would mind NOT staring at you whilst you train, publicly humiliating them will work.

Very disrespectful, however I do love to spot my wife when she squats I have a great view and it somewhat blocks any potential creeps from staring. Its funny when my wife cranks out 225 pound deep squats better than 98% of the men there. Lol

What do you wear when you work out? I am not defending the creeps, mind you, but some women dress to be looked at and then get all pissed when you look at them.

Seriously, just tell the manager and be sure you are MATURE and articulate in your presentation.
