USA Boxing needs to overhaul its program

The performance of the American boxing team in the London Olympics was, sadly, predictable. American boxers have won only three gold medals in the last six Olympiads, but the 2012 team failed to win a medal of any kind.

No American team had ever before failed to earn a medal.

I think team USA just isn't focused on the Olympics like they used to be.

There's no money in it.
When the icons fight, maybe once a year, for insane amounts of money...why would anyone practice for Olympic points boxing, when there's no money in it?

Could, sadly, be true. Plus there is the whole anti- boxing cuz it is "violent" thing...

More local level though young people are still involved, Golden Gloves and all...

No medal at all is SAD...

Unfortunately, boxing is on the down slide, might not ever be what it once was.
