Therapy the mental kind

Not sure where else to put this so I just do it in here and you can move it if needed.


How many of you out here see a therapist or counselor or psychiatrist etc etc?

I once saw therapist several several years ago and she diagnosed me and figuratively put me in a box before we even finish the first session. To say the least it was not a good experience.

I've been kicking around the idea of having someone to talk to that is very open and of course unbiased. I go see my therapist for the first session this week. Sometimes just need to get things off my chest as well as maybe work through some anxiety that's work related that I know has affected my overall well-being.

I have an amazing life, I have an amazing life, she wants nothing but the very best for me and no matter what I want she is always on board and 100% okay with any decisions I make.

My issue is not only have an ADHD in HD my mind never stops every conversation I have pretty much with my wife or any client as I'm talking I have 10 different scenarios 10 different possibilities of things I could be saying and then I try and work out which avenue would be the best way to word something and it just becomes overwhelming and heavy and exhausting.

I have the greatest job in the world most guys would kill to do what I do but to be honest after 17 years it does get kind of old and monotonous and I'm starting to really feel disconnected from my body and sometimes from my mind itself.

Just curious if anybody else's gone through any type of therapy just to get stuff off your chest and clear your mind and what was your thoughts overall?
