Hang on a moment. I heard just the other day that the White House said everything is doing fantastic., Inflation is down, jobs are paying more, millions of new jobs, and people are happy.

Do you think maybe they are slightly misunderstanding the REAL State of America and what's going on in the REAL world?

We're all screwed.

There is another thread on here talking about how the average American guy is 5’9 with a 40.5 inch waist.

Basically, skipping a few meals here and there is probably a good thing…since the average dude is shaped like a butt plug.

They should have shot Biden and left the balloons alone.

Perhaps, but in a free country, you have the freedom to do what you want. Eating too much, or even eating red meat. In a socialist utopia, the state decides what you should eat and what is enough for you. All for you own good.

Don't fall into the trap that someone else is better positioned to determine what is best for you and your family. Let those people run for the local home owner's association, where they can send you a nasty letter informing you that your mulch is the wrong shade of red, or that you planted your tulips two inches too close to the sidewalk. Don't let these people anywhere near actual policy making.

Here's my policy; Live free or die.

For sure, Tommy. The article cited in this thread was written by the Wall Street Journal, the newspaper suggested people skip breakfast to save money. People across social media and the so called Twitterverse are pissed that the newspaper would make such a “heartless” suggestion.

My point was, hell, it might not be bad advice considering that how fat the average person has become.

But, to be clear, people should be free to eat whatever the hell they want in whatever quantity they want.

Nope. How could someone who’s never held a job or paid for his own dinner in 80 years misunderstand?

Massive inflation is now ingrained, and I don’t see companies suddenly lowering prices back to what they were.

CEO's have been recorded saying that they are not giving back the "inflation adjusted" pricing.

"We want to make sure we're not leaving any pricing on the table, we'll take as much pricing as the consumer can absorb" - Garth Hankinson CFO Constellation Brands

"I'm really pleased that our sales teams have gotten much better at pricing than ever in the history of the company. We're not going to be giving this pricing back. Now it's not a matter of 'can we take a price increase' now it's about 'how much of a price increase are you going to take?' " Michael McGarry, CEO of PPG Industries

Our system enables and rewards unbridled greed creating an ever widening gap between the "haves" and the "have-nots". You're either getting squeezed or you're the one doing the squeezing.
