hey guys. my cousin has rotting bones in her wrist/arm. it changes colour from purple to blue as said by her doctor.
the doc said there is no name for it and is not giving her any medication for it.

is there a way for her to strengthen her bones with oral/injectable steds? ive read a bit about deca and repairing damaged muscles, but what about bones? shes not even mid 20s yet. so its a bit concerning.
it from playing sports A LOT when she was younger. hockey that is. so she mustve taken a bit of a beating to have caused this.

has anyone heard of this? any ideas?
thx

Rotting bones sounds like an issue with a constellation of variables that would be beyond my understanding.

I wish the young woman a ton of well!

Interested to see the thread develop.

shes very fragile, far too slim for her height and she doesnt go to the gym or anything. im trying to convince her on starting. and especially, eating more.

Be careful with that arm, I think.

Dying bones sounds truly fragile. Are there really dead areas or is she early in the process?

early process i think, i think it also might be plateau. just very fragile. could almost break. not to the point where she cant walk out of the house. but just has to be careful because it gets sore quickly when carrying groceries or something

wow...sounds like she should see another DR. I'd avoid any resistance/high impact training until they have a better idea of the problem This sounds friggen serious!

A quick hit of research turned up ifo on osteoncrosis which sounds to be what you are describing .... This related to bone rot which is being caused by poor circulation.

There are a few things that help improve circulation such as heat compresses, warm baths with Epsom salt
Baby asprine daily qs well as any drug that is a vasodilator

You need to have her seek a specialist for a second opinion and treatment before it's outta hand

and Whatever you do... DO NOT get her to inject any AAS... it WILL NOT help this situation... only make it worse!

See another doctor!

I have a coworker with osteonecrosis in her knee. Painful and tough for her to get around sometimes but it apparently will just go away at some point? There is apparently no treatment.

sounds horrible my friend, but me broscience suggests maybe an osteoporatic illness? i woulnd't be so quick to go the anabolic route.

briefly on/off subject, i feel that new recruits in the military should have gotten some fortea shots if tested anywhere near low bone density. the #1 non combat related injury i saw in the army was stress fractures of bones in healthy people. they don't give you much food, even less calcium, in basic training, so i saw a lot of guys wipe out and recycle due to that injury. i still hear of guys on the field going through this constantly. too much gear with too little nutrition to hump around afghan country for too long..just my opinion

i found this article, showing a few different routes of treatment. looked interesting and unbiased to me:
