Hello all,
pretty new to the gym life (love it so far). But I'm a bit out of shape. 6 foot 1 inch, 260 lbs, about 25% body fat (way too much), married with a newborn and 3 year old. I'm wanting to work towards strong man competitions. Any help/tips/friendly advice is greatly appreciated.

Finding a strongman "gym" should be step 1.

Welcome to the Den. I have been doing strongman for a year and love it! Right now I am training for a power lifting meet next Saturday, then it will be back to strongman training for the spring.

Since you are new to this, I would suggest a basis in the power and or Olympic lifts before diving into strongman event training. If you can find a good strongman gym in your area as others have suggested they can direct you. Never too early to start carrying heavy stuff around though.
