They gave me the max dose of every IV painkiller possible right after -10mg DialudidMax of FentynlMax of DemerolFinally, they gave me shots straight to my nerves in my quadricep. It worked better than anything. 3 or 4 minutes and all surgery pain was gone. I'd rather get a shot of that everyday. 15mg x 3 a day hydrocodone 10mg x 3 a day of Flexeril300mg x 4 day of clindamycin8 to 12 weeks in a full leg straight brace. Then ACL repair + likely meniscus removal (probably useless now it's been so long since the injury). I'm trying to figure out if I can get unemployment if I was a contractor. I have to be out 12+ months to get SSDI. What bullshit that there is nothing for temporary help.

Of course there is! It's called workers comp health insurance BUT apparently your employer "opted out", just like many folk have done with their own health insurance, but shit does and will happen guaranteed!

Dr Jim, what are your thoughts on Ibuprofen now. 24 hours after the surgery. Will it cause the wound and bleed or heal slower? Thanks

Actually since my earlier post, I did some checking with colleagues in the surgical specialities (quite sure I got them all) and asked if they would "cancel surgery" if the patient had taken a NSAID less than 24 hours prior to surgery?

Only two specialists said "yes", Neurosurgery and Opthalmology! The PRIMARY reason? These sites are NOT accessible to direct compression (the initial treatment for post-op bleeding) and because the consequence can be devastating, especially if the diagnosis is delayed.

Therefore although your surgeon would be the optimal respondent on the use of postoperative NSAIDs, I would NOT consider it an "issue" personally.
