What is wrong with you!! Roasting it is the best.

Today is the day to hit the grocery store and get all the leftover roasts that they sliced up for steaks and put on sale. Usually get a good deal to stock the freezer up with.

Ha! Great minds think alike.

Had prime rib twice. Christmas AND New Year.

Got second set of company in town....so figured I could not go wrong with prime rib AGAIN!

Went to the restaurant supply.

Bought an entire Angus Prime rib roast. (21lbs) Cut one 10lb for for New Years and save the other 3 for family dinners at some point. (vaccu sealed and froze them) The roast is sitting on a 24" long cutting board for scale and the furthest cut is right at 10lbs :D

Also picked up 40lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast. Man....I am stocked to the gills.

Diet = BLOWN....3rd time over the holidays....not to bad ;)

I go to a real restaurant supply place. Not a Sam's or BJ's, but rather a place that services actual restaurants. Used one of my businesses to get signed up. No fee to join, just need a tax id and business. (not open to public)

I went top shelf on the meat. Angus prime, so it was $8/lb. (so the whole rib was about 170) If I just went with a choice I could have got it for $5.50.

Man....chicken breast is CHEAP. Bought 40 lb case of fresh (not frozen) of boneless skinless with NO retained sodium solution, (so real weight), for $1.20 / lb.

The meat prices are great....just have to buy a lot. 80/20 ground beef for $1.90/lb. Top round (leaner beef) for 3.20/lb. Also bought some whole lunch meats. Got Angus roast beef (looked for a good brand without nitrates and nitrites), got it for $3/lb. Got a slicer so it is nice. The butterball chicken breast is nice too. Think it was $2.7/lb

BTW....not sure how you guys like it....but I am a rare guy for sure. This was my Christmas plate. The New year roast was even a nicer cut of beef then this. TONS of nice fine marbling. When roasted, it just about fell apart. Like I said....blew my cut a little :D

Yup, I have restaurant supply card, that's why I was asking how much it was.

That's a nice plate besides the asparagus, LK is not a fan of that!
