What did that cost you a lb at the restaurant supply mac??
I go to a real restaurant supply place. Not a Sam's or BJ's, but rather a place that services actual restaurants. Used one of my businesses to get signed up. No fee to join, just need a tax id and business. (not open to public)
I went top shelf on the meat. Angus prime, so it was $8/lb. (so the whole rib was about 170) If I just went with a choice I could have got it for $5.50.
Man....chicken breast is CHEAP. Bought 40 lb case of fresh (not frozen) of boneless skinless with NO retained sodium solution, (so real weight), for $1.20 / lb.
The meat prices are great....just have to buy a lot. 80/20 ground beef for $1.90/lb. Top round (leaner beef) for 3.20/lb. Also bought some whole lunch meats. Got Angus roast beef (looked for a good brand without nitrates and nitrites), got it for $3/lb. Got a slicer so it is nice. The butterball chicken breast is nice too. Think it was $2.7/lb
BTW....not sure how you guys like it....but I am a rare guy for sure. This was my Christmas plate. The New year roast was even a nicer cut of beef then this. TONS of nice fine marbling. When roasted, it just about fell apart. Like I said....blew my cut a little
