Feel really good with lifting and fresh , as this is the first cycle would you still recommend that I do the de-load week or would it be ok to start cycle 2 after this week ? I do understand the importance of the de-load week just not sure whether it will be beneficial at the moment.

I think you should take the de load week. Let yourself recover and you'll be nice and ready for the start of the next cycle.

Youll feel nice and recharged in the gym too.

Doubt you need a deload with 531. It's all sub max work. Does wendler recommend deloads at a certain point?

PillarofBalance I think he calls for a deload at the end of each cycle, I cant remember if he gives the option to skip it.

On 5/3/1 you deload on the 4th week each time. On 3/5/1 you run two cycles then do a deload.

The deloads make a difference though.

Decided I'm not going to de-load after the 1st cycle as I still feel very fresh , but will put that de-load week in from the 2nd cycle onwards.

A deload every 4 weeks? That's kinda pathetic.
