Man jailed in Queensland for importing steroids

A man has been jailed for a year for trying to bring steroids into far north Queensland.

Local man Ian Moore, 52, was detained at Cairns airport on January 26 after arriving from Thailand with a litre of liquid steroids, 1.25kg of suspected steroid tablets and 30 injectable vials of human growth hormone.

In the Cairns Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Moore pleaded guilty to importing and attempting to import restricted goods and with making a false statement.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison and fined $2500.

He got 10 yrs for other substances imported and transported. He lived with a prominent lawyer too, who obviously knew nothing of the imports/etc. The same lawyer that is 6'4 and over 300lb Moore was doing this for years undetected so it wasn't his first attempt.
