Kobe the real deal

On some of my other forums Ive been kind of known for my food related porn. This is the real deal Kobe beef, only a hand full of places in the world let alone the U.S can get there hands on the stuff. It’s fair to say it’s the most exclusive Beef out there. I don’t like to call it “ the best” because that’s a matter of personal taste, but it is certainly the most expensive running about $250 a lb whole sale with restaurants charging about 35+ a oz.
it’s one of those things that if your “ into” food it’s definitely worth trying at lest once, a Bucket list thing to be sure.

I always thought Wagu was more rare than Kobe. I always pay more for Wagu.....

So how does this compare to Wagu?
Fat content Kobe has some if the highest fat content and its within the strands of the muscle making every bite spectacular

Wagyu and Kobe beef are identical. Same cows, same husbandry, same quality, same outcome.

Kobe beef must be from Kobe prefecture to be called “Kobe Beef”. Otherwise it’s called Wagyu.

I live in japan and have had both multiple times.

They are decadent but I’d rather have a porterhouse:)

Maybe because I can’t get one here. .....

LK is spot on. You literally can cut it with the side of your fork. Like butta’

I've had kobe beef once before when I was in Japan. Excellent! Just don't think it's 10X better than US prime filet here in the states. But glad I had the chance to try it.

We had wagyu on our cruise, I found it very good, but I too prefer a traditional cut over it.

wagyu I have had twice and it is really good but I don't think it is worth THAT much more than a Prime steak from a good chophouse.
