Forgot to pay a speeding ticket and had to go downtown to Dallas Police HQ's to tend to the mess. First time I've ever been there in all these years. Outside, there is a huge bronze plaque explaining that the building itself is a national historic landmark. I didn't know that. And, it goes on to explain why - that JFK's alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was shot and killed by Jack Ruby in the underground parking lot.
So anyway, took care of the ticket and had some time to kill so I took a drive through Dealy Plaza. I've done this a few times - stood there on the grass, looked at the book depository and watched the cars go by...trying to imagine what it was like that day back in 1963. It's an eerie experience, not matter how many times I do it. And, I'm never alone. There are always locals and tourists alike there. Some making a picnic outing out of it even. Always cameras and video cams.
The Titanic and the JFK assassination. Two things the american public can't seem to get enough of.
If you live here, the Kennedy assassination is simply a blemish in our legacy you learn to live with, but it's always in our face - in one form or fashion. No doubt, November 22, 1963 was the darkest day in this city's history.
Anyway, got the idea to do this thread to see what everyone's opinion of the JFK assassination is these days.
What really happen, and who do you think really did it?
