Internet browser/iPad question

I use chrome and/or safari for browsers on my iPad and phone. For some reason the iPad cannot handle certain sites especially news type sites and shuts down chrome when I try to read an article. It's really annoying especially when it happens multiple times while trying to read something. Anyone know what causes this/ how to fix or prevent it?

What type of iPad. I know I can't play certain games on my iPad2 anymore, new games take up more RAM than it has available, not sure about news sites since I get all my news from @Bro Bundy but that could be the issue.
