Tried this today and had no issues with my right shoulder. Normally When I hit my 3rd set at 315 I can feel the pain but today it felt great. pushed 365 for 4 reps no problem. I put a 10 lb plate under the ass end of the bench to raise it a little and it seemed to take the pressure off of the shoulder to where it was not painful at all. I also narrowed my grip slightly. I'm sure tomorrow my shoulder will tell me if this is a fluke.

Sounds like you transferred the weight to your triceps. No reason why that shouldn't work. Or, you could go lighter.

Yes I definitely felt more in the tri's. Still smoked the chest though. Getting old is a bitch.

Lol getting old is about training smarter. I swear my training is more focused on injury prevention than actual strength anymore

Yes Getting old means having to thinking about it before throwing the weight up.
