Vitamin C increases iron absorption. Higher iron levels are problematic for those prone to high HGB and HCT levels.

Im prone to high H/H but I also have issue with low iron.
The phlebotomies fixes the H/H but drops my iron.
I had 3 iron infusions last year. It really sucked when my iron levels got down to 19.

Its been a roller coaster.
Lowering H/H, drops iron.
Fixing iron, increases H/H.

Yeah that’s an unfortunate conundrum.
Other than an elevated figure on your cell levels, I often wonder if there is broader variability person to person, and it’s not necessarily any increased health risk to be “elevated” beyond standard references.

I think I’m your instance I would up the vitamin C and see what happens. Rather than increasing iron directly. Find that balance. Worth a try.
