That fight was frustrating as hell to watch. The arrogance... The timidness... The disrespect...
At least Ali would still knock you the fuxk out after talking all that shit. This dude acts like a poodle for 36 minutes - bark, run and nip at your ankle, retreat, repeat.
I was in a room full of Mayweather fans and not one cheered or spoke up for him. Wifey and I were talking cash shit and no one could refute it - Mayweather made one of the biggest fights in boxing history a joke that no one will respect years down the line. The decision was announced and not one person at the fight party cheered. They were too embarrassed/indifferent/bored.
Pacquiao's first few comments post-fight were on point... "He didn't do nothing." Exactly. He bobbed, weaved, jabbed and taunted for 12 rounds, watching the dollars roll in.
He's good for the sport because he shows fellow boxers you don't need to be taken advantage of by promoters. He shows independence can be achieved through smart business decisions and is an inspiration to younger fighters.
But he's an extremely poor role model. "Money isn't everything. It's the only thing." How many dickhead kids are puffing their chests out reciting that like it's gospel? What a shame.
Tyson made an amusing comment on First Take:
"He's very delusional. If he was anywhere near that realm of Ali, he'd be able to take his kids to school by himself. He's talking about (being) great? Greatness is not guarding himself from the people, greatness is being accepted by the people. He's a very small, scared man."
Hello. My name is GA. And I'm a hater.
