No, did you think about trying ballet in a different state instead?

Before I read the study I knew several guys would jump in and claim its bullshit or find any way to reject it.
It always happens on AAS boards.

The media claims steroids are worse then heroin and AAS boards rejects every study out there.
    Nothing but two extreme views.

My kidney values are high and so are my creatinine levels.
Did not use to be like that before AAS usage.
It could be to increased protein intake, increased weight or AAS usage.
But the thing is that they all go hand in hand..
The study is interesting. Its been several known bodybuilders dying of young age.
The AAS boards always claims the person uses recs, etc. Its never AAS.
I am sure AAS abuse (use over prescribed dose) its not healthy.
The additional weight, strain on body, amount of food, etc is not leading to a healthier body.
    But its addictive as hell.

^^^^^ what the hell is this, the calm voice of reason?! I will probably continue doing what I'm doing until the day I die, and maybe die because of that, but I at least like to know about all sides of the issue, even if I lack the wisdom to implement all of them.

The key is to be informed with factual information, instead of popular beliefs, because if you know the facts, you are likely to have more control over the situation, in this case cutting down on the risk of kidney failure.

Maybe it doesn't happen to everyone who uses AAS, but it seems to happen more often than the general population. Anything I can do to keep my kidneys healthy will reduce the risk I will suffer eventual failure.

And if I suffer failure, at least I had all the facts when I knowingly took the risk.

This right here. "sclerosis" means hardening of the tissue. I would like to see what these guy's BP was on cycle. blood pounding through the tiny arterioles in your glomerulus (glomeruli?) under high pressure will cause hardening of the tissue and that kind of extreme pressure is what could push protein through the filtration membrane. Notice how adding lisinopril helped their kidney function with already damaged kidneys. keep that BP in check.

agreed MK... too many times we want to hide our heads and say it isn't AAS because we like AAS... truth is guys.. there are negative side effects... saying it isn't so wont stop it... Dont be foolish guys... YES, a high protein diet can cause kidney problems... that is not to say the adding AAS doesn't exacerbate the issue. be smart!... And yes stumpy... I tried ballet in Vegas...no cancer there... but it made my toes hurt worse.

I don't think I am in denial. I have pushed my doses and have felt like shit before. I know too much isn't good.

My problem with these studies is that there are just too many data gaps because the ethics committees won't allow studies to be conducted where drugs or placebo are introduced by the researchers themselves.

Woodwise - thanks for the articles fascinating . It's always needed- after we all digest this - realize many studies can be flawed and the subjects may be challenged neutrally as well. We can learn from woodwise , Morgan Kane , pillar ! I like many of us use bodybuilding to enhance my health and delay aging. And I have . I'm in best shape of my life , like woody I want to commend him and say he serves as an example that despite the public outcries we need to insist that our docs are our friends- get blood work . Gain a rapport with your doc . I myself have had the same pcp for 20 years. I see him regular . He knows I use. In fact he asks my self advice for his kid who somewhere is a forum member lol. Remember to build muscle we need to eat and train hard. So keeping a healthy digestive system and body is paramount to building muscle . Considering rotating compounds when we cycle. . Minimizing the harsher and taking time off. Utilizing herbs and supps between cycles . Study natural bodybuilders routines to use between . You CAN ! Gain between cycles . Stay healthy like wood , myself others monitor your system with bloodwork , routine medical exams . I'm god damn 50! I have no issues ! Broke my spine twice surgeries on my back elbows hips! Fluid intake avoiding recreational drugs alcohols maintain liver and kidneys so I can devote their use to aas and bodybuilding . If you have physical ailments you nurse them by training around them streghthening your weak parts . People get all caught up in just benching or training the show parts, kids take mega doses of steroids because they either lack knowledge or patience to train smart or hard . Even simple things like using straps and belts . Over time you train body to rely on them . Use supports for heavy sets or meets only. Personally in 95 after lower spine reconstruction I tossed my belt never used one since . I do have war is fir knees and elbows but only use when doing a max lift or when I'm fighting . I make sure my erectors and transverse abdominus is my belt . My forarm muscles are my wraps but if I injure I will use them accordingly . Don't get caught up in training only one way . Rotate . Balance your body and training . That way it will never let you down . 40 years of hours of martial arts, 30 years of weights, i was in the army during wartime toured over seas. Multiple surgeries I always find a way to adjust myself . We all can learn from the wisdom woodwise has layed out here do not take it for granted because you feel fine. You get only one body one life beat it ! Build it ! But do it smart !

Big bump ! Us bodybuilders are not like regular people but we have to pay attention . We are above the average BECAUSE we eat train use compounds!!! Because we read these articles and heed warnings by adjusting our eating. Traing.

Bodybuilding I'll say it again is the fountain of life and health !

Or it should be! The over dosers and aas abusers give us a bad name

What are some of the ways we can keep bp in check?

I personally use high heat cayenne capsules (90,000 heat unit or higher) and celery seed extract. I find that lobelia extract does a good job as well.

Hawthorne berry, asprin, cialis. Also keeping your e2 in check will keep bloat down which in turn helps the blood pressure. Getting cardio in can help. Blood donations are a good idea if hematocrit is high

Sometimes you just have to lower the dose or avoid certain compounds.
