At her age I was having sex, I think parents often overestimate the innocence of their children. Looking innocent and being innocent are 2 different things but then you look at the culture, people "baby proof" when I was a kid baby proofing was a spanking. Don't get me wrong I would not be comfortable to put my daughter on stage like that (and you can easily tell this girl is 13-14 years old) but the everyday life of a teen is filled with the sexual innuendo it's hard to pinpoint this as harmful...better keep her away from boys her age and the beach if we want to avoid the sexual aspects of a teens life.

Would I allow my kid to do it no, but we'd need to have the same standards for boys as well.

And there are predators everywhere, and the most dangerous are the ones her own age imo, having gone through a trauma at 14( and I was fat and not developed like this girl) and rebeling against men from there, my sexuality began when I was 5-6 and scared to say anything...
I can only hope this girl and her parents view her as an athlete, the dedication it took to get her to this point could be what is keeping her from the normal predators, and I truly cannot fault her parents for supporting her if this is what she wanted to do, not supporting her would be an easy way to shut the lines of communication at a critical time to have them there, and she could have rebelled and gone and been susceptible to so much worse.

Further I cannot fault a 14year old for going after a goal, and doing so well, noone thinks anything of it when seeing a young teen pop star, runway model, gymnast etc and wanting fame like that when that's success to her age group..

And like I said before I would not want my daughter doing this, but if it were her passion I would support her nonetheless

If she decides to be a bikini competitor I'll be there to support her every step.

Which is exactly my point. They're too stupid because their parents let them be. I moved away from home at 16. I didn't run away and couch surf, i got a good enough job and payed my rent, tuition, and bills. My father bought his first house at 17 and his father at 16. Nowadays kids are running around " having fun" when they should be learning to support themselves.

This raised a lot of controversy, and I think there's some particular concern that judges are going to be leaning more & more towards the young competitors. Traditionally in BB there has been a teen category, however in the newer categories where the barriers to entry (i.e. muscle development & maturity) are so much lower that it is viable for a 14 yr old girl to get on stage & compete w/ people who spent 12-16 weeks prepping - shoud they really be awarding this girl? Were the appropriate judging criteria applied, or was it completely subjective and based on the boner count? Does it just make them dirty old men? Is this where the NPC/IFBB wants to go?

Noting this particular case was done in Europe, where one might argue that there are different "social expectations" - there have been at least some NPC state orgs or promoters who have explicitly called out an age limit of 16. Its never really been an issue in the past, but IMO it needs to be formalized to accommodate these individual situations. IMO there needs to be more formal criteria and stricter adherence to this criteria by judges across the federation. It will establish expected & predictable criteria as well as keep the line drawn in what is "appropriate' for this sport. The Fame / Fitness America is very explicit about appropriate posing for their competitive ladies in everything from figure, fitness & the explicit "modeling' categories. No "drop it down & swing it around" is allowed and in fact will lead to an immediate DQ. This not equivalently enforced in the NPC and is VERY subjective at the local level. I've personally seen shit done on stage by Bikini competitors that made me either want to leave the competition or throw money on the stage and yell "Where's your pole??". As a female competitor in this federation, I feel like it kicks women back 40 yrs. I'd rather see some integrity upheld in this sport.
