Do you train at 7a-ish after you get off?

Or 6p-ish before you go in?

I did it in the afternoon when I got up because I've always been a morning trainer. I would usually want to go to bed pretty soon after I got home so no way would I have a decent workout.
Answering your other thread question as well, I usually didn't eat until after the workout.
Third shift was miserable for me. God bless you if you can deal with it

I did 3x12s overnights and would train before going in so I could use a preworkout. If I had to go after my shift, I'd either struggle with the workout or be up 4hrs after from the stimulation/music/ occasional caffeine.

They both hit the nail on the head. I rarely have as good of a workout after work as when I lift beforehand. Physically demanding work or long hours take the wind out of my sail

After work, usually take a while to cool down and stop sweating so can never work out before work.

Exactly. I normally like to get the workout out of the way, but now that I’m wearing a suit, or at the very least a dress shirt with vest, I’m sweating like I’m still working out, up to 2 hours after I get to work.

But if I work out after I get off, the sun is coming up when I leave the gym. Driving home as the sun comes up makes me feel oddly terrible, like a drug addict. Hate it.

Maybe I’ll get up earlier and workout immediately, then give myself more time to cool down before dressing and leaving for work.

What kind of third shift job involves a suit? High end strip club? Night audit at the ritz Carlton? Lks butler?

I let my butler dress down most of the time bro.

Driving home when the sun comes up sober is a super weird feeling!

1) Most of us are in shape so you "Portly" guys might need different advice.
2) Showering and changing clothes is recommended before entering the work place. Zubas and T. Michael Stringers are frowned upon unless it's casual Friday.

LOL...Ialways feel like I binged on coke all night whenever I leave a casino. Like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas when he's taking his brother home from the hospital

II worked nights for pretty much 20yrs straight and like these guys said it was always best to work out before going to work. There were a few years where I would take 2hr lunches to0 work out and it was truly awesome but those days are over. After work I was always focused on getting to sleep asap.
