next run of SST will be focused on catcing all your guys' squats lol. i think i am the only person that has a near 600 deadlift but cant even squat 500

I was the guy that could bench more than he squatted for years bro. This is the first year my squat is higher than my bench since I was in my 20's.

lol there was a point where i could bench 60 pounds more than i squatted and deadlift about 250 pounds more than i squatted... feels pretty bad now that i think about it lol, but now atleast i have no fear of my bench ever catching my squat

That looks like a bad ass spot. To bad we don't have that down here.

It's amazing and the guys that lift there are great, no drama, no bullshit and a lot of fun. I lived near there in HS and for my under-grad.

Do you think you were properly warmed up for the big lifts? Also, do you think it would have suited you better making smaller jumps when you were at maximal weight?

This is just me personally but I need to perform more warm ups before I start benching. I also make smaller jumps as the weight gets closer my max press.

Nice job on the 460 squat... I'm looking forward to the vid on that. I hope that opening your hips up better is making that progress possible.

Your bench form will likely need adjustment at the point. If you recall your bench was stalled when you first joined here and I suggested you take your grip out. Try moving in one finger at a time until you find your sweet spot.

not sure BI. i thought with the way 300 went up that 325 would not be an issue. but it would not lock out. i think bench form in general needs a lot of work. i never feel at my strongest when benching anyway.

sorry PoB, no vids of the squats. my new phone should be in tomorrow or Tuesday so i hope to be able to get vids of the next training Wave. i CAN tell you that the hips were definitely opening up during these squats. my knees did cave a little on the 440 and 460 squat sets but not too terribly. on the 475 set i just did not have the strength to finish the rep once i got out of the hole. i am looking forward to hammering down on these weaknesses later during the next SST run. BrotherIron has pretty much geared the entire program to hit EVERY one of my weakspots in a different way each wave.

Here will be my new numbers for the next SST run:

Deads: 585
Bench: 335 no change
Press: 225 no change
Squat: 460
Fronts: 340

That squat is going to climb very fast so be prepared. Make sure you're foam rolling your back and whatever other rehab type things you like to do are getting done.

thanks PoB, my prehab is fairly simple:

for shoulders i hit wall angels, rotations, sea turtles, and stick stretches 2-3 times a week

for hips i do the mobility WoD you posted 5 times a week and the simple box stretch that BI posted 2 times a week(Pull and Squat day)

i am not foam rolling yet(i keep forgetting to find a roller) but i will be starting in a week or 2.
