if i was to start TRT now at age 38 would i stay on for the rest of my life if i want the benefits of testosterone?

Yes. Trt is for life. Otherwise it's just a really long stupid low dosed cycle.

what are the chances of your own testosterone coming back to a normal level after trying test again at my age?

Don't know your age but as we age the test levels will continue to fall. I've been on trt for 6 or 7 years. I don't plan on ever coming off but the decision to go on permanently is a heavy one.

I did try and do a pct once after about 3 years on trt and surprisingly was able to produce test but not at my pre trt levels but probably 85%.

Everybody is different. You never really know if you will or won't, but in most cases if you continue to juice at some point your natural test will be end up in the low range for good.
