Four B.C. residents have been charged in connection with a steroid smuggling and distribution ring.

Gautam Mohan Srivastava of Saanich, William Joel Baturin of Sechelt, Simon James Baturin of Vancouver, and Burnaby’s Hubert Moses Sims have been charged with multiple counts stemming from an investigation dubbed ‘Project Juice.’

The investigation, which spanned several provinces, began in 2012 after steroids sent through the mail were seized by Canada Border Services Agency agents in Vancouver and Toronto.

Approximately 5,600 vials, 150,000 tablets, 2.7 litres of prepared steroids, and 50 kgs of raw powders were seized in B.C. during the investigation, along with and $21,000 in cash.
