I have noticed a huge difference in how I convert to estradiol over the last 5 years.

5 years ago I needed a little ai on just 200mg test a week. With no ai my estradiol would be crazy high, like over 100. Now I have no issues with estradiol. Last time I checked on 300mg test I had 29 estradiol and 2200 total T. Im older and leaner now. I know getting leaner helps but I can’t imagine losing 10% body fat would make that big of a difference. Age and time on test may be more of a factor?

I feel like your body gets used to the heavy anabolic load and adjusts. TRT used to shoot my estrogen through the roof. I weaned myself down off anastrozole over time. When we through the body off it tends to overreact in response.

being leaner definitely helps. 10% lose would make a huge difference. 10% on a BMI chart could take a person from obese to almost healthy range. Within striking distance anyway. There's a huge difference between 20% bf and 10%.

Might consider getting cortisol levels checked too. This can cause both joint pain and decreased libido.

What is one thing we know happens to everyone as they age? Digestion goes down hill. Digestion and estrogen go hand in hand...

As we age the following organs are greatly effected which cause issues in drug clearance.

Liver (Hepatic) Metabolism Declines.....this means liver mass decreases ~20–40%,liver blood flow decreases ~35%,phase I metabolism (CYP450 oxidation, reduction) slows significantly however, phase II metabolism (glucuronidation, sulfation) is usually preserved. I general this means a slower breakdown leading to higher blood levels and a prolonged half-life.

Kidney (Renal) Clearance Declines....this is the most significant age-related change for drug elimination. Reduced renal clearance can lead to accumulation and toxicity risk with greater risks for unwanted side effects or worse.

Increased Drug Sensitivity.....even with the same blood level, older adults often have stronger drug effects.

So for those of us older guys, we have to constantly listen to our body and monitor our blood work for changes. It become more of a challenge to optimize hormone levels because things can constantly change. What worked last year may not work this year.

Not to hijack but curious what are some things you bump for keeping GI efficiency maxed? I use betanine+ pepsin, and magnesium citrate as needed but always looking for other things that help the overall digestive health strategy

Honestly, taking Metamucil caps before each meal, or after really helps. These past few months I’ve noticed I get hungry more times and have less GI issues.

500 mg Apple cider vinegar 3x a day, 20 g of glutamine, 1 mg BPC-157, 2 g magnesium glycinate, DAO Enzyne and use Metformin when food is high. Solid fish oils, Fiberlyzed and Upnourish Plant Sterols also help.

Might give ACV a shot again. Also using BPC 157.. about 5mg a week / 7 - daily.
been reading up on KPV peptide as well which sounds like it drastically reduces gut inflammation. More research is necessary before I take the plunge

I have considered adding in KPV just for my wife, as she was having some gut health issues. We are trying some other things first.
