What's New?

What is this strangely strong pump on blood in my veins during exercise.

beef, are you just "toying" with Charger, or have you seen any Saiyans recently? I played High School ball with a few, but it's been years.

Charger, sounds like what you're feeling is about nerves + muscles, not veins. Do you get this with other exercises or just some specific ones?
Just a few specific ones

I agree with raw and GF, it sounds more like a nerve issue.
I have problems with my ulnar nerve and get a wide range of feelings. Most often it’s numbness in my fingers, but when it first started, it felt like pressure/squeezing in my elbow and burning in my hands.

Your elbow/shoulder position during those exercises could be it.

I would only think it was a vascular thing if the pump sensation matched your pulse rate. Do a single arm rep and check your wrist pulse with your free hand To see if it syncs.

in the meantime, I’d avoid that movement until you figure it out. Nerve damage can be a bitch and permanent
Hmm, ok. I'll try to switch the position like you said and see if that changes anything. Thx all of you for the help

Just for clarification can you also say or reword it as your veins are twitching?

Ye kinda, at first I thought it felt like a pumping blood, but feeling it again and really paying attention to it I feels like twitching, or kinda like how you stretch your body and sometimes your bone clicks or cracks.

But now I read the other messages, it's probably not my veins that are causing this. maybe my nerves like Genetic Freak and Tiny said. Whatever it is I'll probably just stop doing those exercises until I figure out the issue. It's not that big of a deal since there are a bunch of other excircises I can do. This problem only occurs with about two of three of 'em.

My ulnar nerve issues started from my job. I pinched a nerve in my neck late last spring, and my job has me holding a heavy ass hose in that hand for hours a day. Frequently with my elbow bent.
i googled symptoms and have been following some PT exercises that I have found online. It helps, but isn’t 100%. I don’t have insurance and unfortunately can’t spend thousands at a nerve specialist, MRI’s, and all that shit. I avoid things to aggravate it and have been taking ala.

As a fellow heavy hose handler, I sympathize.
