I LOVE Beef Jerky

my wife makes it. Marinated in soy and garlic and some other stuff. Not sure what. I use flank steak, slice it tissue paper thin and dehydrate for a day or two. I make about 4 pounds at a time. Great snack.

The meat plant we buy our bulk packages from sells it by the pound, $23 a pound is too rich for me!

Walmart has a fajita meet in a bag (chicken or steak) for 2.98 and 3.98. 40 grams of protein with minimal salt and carbs for 2.98 and tastes mazing.

I prefer the butcher shops jerky as close to homemade as it's gonna get without me having to make it

tried the mesquite steakhouse and although the flavor was good, there was a layer of grease/fat on the jerky.

One step closer to purchasing a dehydrator. Probably have to wait until June...

For starters, I'm going with this one and if all works well, I'll be able to convince the old lady for a better one so I dehydrate her fruits for snacks.

Jerky is expensive because it's expensive to make. 5lbs of raw meat for jerky turns out to be less then a lb when it's all said and done. I was on amazon one time and ordered gator jerky off there. Best jerky I have had was venison. I would like to try elk jerky.
