GP decided it's time to have a look at my heart via a stress test. I'm built to stand my ground, not run but ok.

Results came back with the typical, "We may see something". Fuuk if they don't always see something. Cardiologist said he review the test and there's nothing to be seen. Cardio wants to do some other test for plaque buildup because my HDL is always low.

What have all you old coots been doing for testing?

I am gonna get one of those full body scans this Spring. I am lucky to have a Dr who allows me to call the shots when it comes to testing and what meds I take. Had a stress test a few years back, no issues.

I don't believe 90% of what these doctors say anymore. They are just incentivized to prescribe you something or run another test, pass you off to their specialist buddy. You eat good, you train hard, have a few cocktails to keep the blood flowing and they can shove all their pills up their ass.

Just had a nuclear stress test the other day. Was having intermittent chest pains. I scored a 13.7 METS. Which isn’t bad. Not cardio or training for four months. Overweight but about 30 pounds and double hip replacement less that a year. Just at a year on one and 9 months on the other. Dickhead tech says you’ll be off the treadmill in 5 minutes. Nope. 12 minutes later he walked away.

Best score ever for me was 16.5 METS.

I’m 57 and have had 3 heart attacks.

Oh. My cardiologist figured out it’s my GERD. Put me on a new med. no more pains.

Oh I have that reflux. Once it got so bad in my back and neck I thought I was having a chest grabber.

3 heart attacks? Damn brother! And we're the same age.

Yeah everything is fine but now he wants to do a test for plaque build up.

I think at some point someone has to say, It is a 57y.o. heart.

Full body? I have had the upper right quadrant done 2-3x, never a full scan.

HDL does reduce LDL levels, however, as long as your LDL levels are low your good to go. LDL is what is responsible for plaque buildup.
