I decided to start a new training log which will contain offseason training as well as meet prep. I started another cycle of POB's Bully Yoga this week, I was kind of ADD jumping back and forth doing my own thing and one of POB's old programs, so I finally decided to stick with this. PillarofBalance Ill be in touch with you to see if any modifications should be made to focus on some weakpoints.

Tuesday

Deadlift 15x2 @6 until 9

455x2 (beltless) for all 15 sets

Weight extremely fast all 15 sets, the most I've ever done on 15x2 deadlifts is 495 and that was with a belt so this was a sort of big PR. My back was surprisingly not tight at all after these either, to me that means that all his beltless work that I've been doing has been paying off.

Double Paused Bench 5x5 @8

225x5

225x5

225x5

225x5

225x5

Took it kind of easy here just because last week while benching I felt a pull in my right pec nothing serious but as soon as I felt it I immediately stopped. I took a few days off from benching and it was feeling better but when I started my warmup sets I could feel that it was still pretty tight, so I kept the weight light.

Paused Deadlifts 1x3 @9 then fatigue drop 10% @8 3x3

365x3 (top set)

365x3

365x3

365x3

I was supposed to do a fatigue drop after the top set but, the top set felt pretty light maybe a 7-8 and I just felt that going up after doing that would be too fatiguing so I decided to do 3 more sets with the same weight. Ill be sure to gauge my weights a little better next time.

Thursday

Bench 5x5 @8

275x5

280x5

300x5

300x5

300x5

I started off really conservative because of my pec although it was feeling close to 100%, the first set of 275 was easy peasy, so I decided to bump up to 280 thinking maybe the any more than 5lbs would re-aggravate my pec but the weight moved fast and my pec felt fine, so I decided to finish off the last 3 sets with 300, and it held up fine. It did start to feel a little tight after the first set with 300 but it didn't hold me back on the last 2 sets.

5 sec Paused Squats 1x3 @9, Fatigue drop 10% 2-4x3 @8

365x3 (pauses were actually about 3 seconds, I apparently have no concept of time lol)

330x3 (all of these were closer to 5 sec pauses)

330x3

330x3

Bodyweight is holding pretty steady at about 173-176lbs.

Nice work man.

Where in the training program are the burritos incorporated?

Thanks Al. Just trying to get strong like all you guys. Hows your back doing?

Nice work man.

Where in the training program are the burritos incorporated?

The extra workout is all burrito based, alot of different variations for maximal muscle confusion. For example Cheese, no cheese, steak, chicken, spicy, not spicy, with and without guac, etc. It's quite innovative

Well.... when's the meet?

Haha the meet isn't for another 6 months or so. I'm doing the Fort Lauderdale FitExpo, USPA run meet and IPL Worlds Qualifier.

Week 1- Squats

Squats 1x3 @9

Warmup (beltless)
135x10

185x5

225x3

275x3

315x1

365x1

Top set

425x3 (Threw on the belt for these)

Moved really well, been having some slight issues with my hip. It pops or clicks whenever I do any abduction or rotational movements at the hip. The misses who is a Physical therapy student; seems to think its Snapping Hip Syndrome. That may explain the issues I've been dealing with my IT band and hip pain over the last year and a half or so.

Block Pulls 3x1 @9

Warm ups

135x5

225x5

315x3

405x3

495x1

Top sets

585x1

585x1

585x1

I jumped into the block pulls right after squats and didn't feel like taking off the knee sleeves. I realized that was a bad idea, when I noticed the knurling on the bar was scraping up against the sleeves making the lift a little harder than it should of been, but even then I still kept the sleeves on lol.

Bulgarian Split Squats 5x7

40lb dumbells 3x7 (no rest in between sets)

60lb dumbells 2x7 (rest in between sets)

****ing hate these things lol but got a sick pump from them

Thanks brother, this week was my first time throwing on a belt in over a month. I felt like I need to work on my core strength a little, I guess it worked lol

"Dos Equis and Deadlifts" would get my vote from the ones you listed.
