Today's goal was to replicate a recent past workout, and to test new weight on some of the accessories. I was feeling good enough to go for a slightly higher weight for my 5 rep deadlift sets (previous 5 rep set best was 145). Also had another powerlifter at the gym doing deads along side of me, so that got me fired up a bit, heh. Grip was pretty well spent on the final rep of each set. But I was locking out pretty well.
If I'm there I may smack you around to get you angrier....Ask POB, he hates me before he hits a PR lol.
Oh no, lol, I don't know if I take the getting hit approach before a lift. I tend to really sharpen the concentration to such an extent that background noise fades away, and I feel like I could almost move the weight with my mind.
But I'll let you hit me afterwards, heh!
Good luck man. Your going to crush it!! I know you are competing in the 123s but what do you walk around at? You look a lot bigger in that pic.
My training weight typically is right around 126-128 at the most. I weighed myself 24 hours before my competition and came in at 119 and some change. And weighed myself again the morning of the meet (after having ate and hydrated fairly well) and came in a smidge over 123 (still in the 123 weight class though). But yeah, people at the gym think I look like I'm in the 140 range - which I take as a compliment.
