Valentina Chepiga was born in April 27, 1962. She was born in Khariv, Ukraine. Her early life and engagements had nothing to do with her later life as a professional female bodybuilder.
In her education, she went to an Engineering and Building College and took a degree in Gas Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning with which she graduated later in 1978. Being her predetermined career, Valentina Chepiga got employed as per her course. She worked from 1979 to 1992. Later, she got promoted to an engineer on the same.
However, Valentina had discovered her best career while she was still a technician. In 1988, she discovered her interest in bodybuilding and heavy-weight lifting. She started training intensively towards the development of the career.
On discovering her career as a professional bodybuilder, Valentina Chepiga dropped everything and decided to concentrate on it. Thus, she moved to the Capital City of Ukraine, Kiev, in 1992. Having learnt about bodybuilding for 4 years by then, Valentina could not have settled for less. She decided to establish herself as an experienced personal trainer in bodybuilding classes that involved both men and women.
As a personal trainer, she was exposed to different competitions and minor championships. These competitions later made her to become famous and popular in Ukraine. For instance, she was able to participate in the national middleweight competition. This involved individuals with weight ranging from 52 to 57 kilograms.
Later, Valentina Chepiga was able to get links to major championships locally and abroad. From 1993 up to 1997, she was able to participate in the IFBB European Championships. 1997 marked the top achievement year for her career. She was able to amass the first position for 3 times in the European and also the world IFFB Championships.
Professional Bodybuilding Career
Consequently, she was able to make her first appearance as a professional bodybuilder. In 1998, Valentina Chepiga was able to secure a place in the Ms. Olympia in Praha, Czech Republic. This was the first time for the competition to be held. However, she faced a stiff competition and she only made it at 12th position. Nonetheless, she did not give up. She concentrated more on her professional career seeking help from more experienced trainers and professionals.
In 1999, Valentina participated in two different middleweight competitions. One was the Jan Tana Pro Classis where she managed 3rd position. And the next one was the yearly Ms. Olympia where she managed 12th position for the second consecutive time.
With the change of rules in the Ms. Olympia that was installed later, Valentina Chepiga was able to make up a better performance. The rules split the competitions into 2. One was the Lightweight, which allowed competitors with up to 61.2 kg, and the Heavyweight for competitors ranging from 62.3 kg and above. Valentina consequently, got 1st position and 2nd position in Ms. Olympia in 2000 and 2001 respectively.
In 2000, she was in the 1st position for the Jan Tana Pro Classic after it also passed through changes. She also managed position 1 for the Ms. International in 2002.
Following her spectacular performance internationally, Valentina Chepiga has amassed several records. Among her best records include;
