You ever have those days when your warmup sets feel so heavy you can’t comprehend how you’re gonna move your working sets?
I just look at it as gravity being off. LOL
Today is that day for me. Legs draggin ass and we will see what happens. Keep your chin up it will get better on those days when the weight flies up and you are so pumped you could explode.

I hear you!! I just finished my warmup sets on db bench and was getting ready to add 25# when I posted. Fortunately the first working set went up pretty easy. It’s just a mental thing some days.

Yes. Fortunately not too often.

Typically when I feel like that, I can point to something, and it's usually a poor night's sleep.

YES I have and sometimes when I push through like a MOFO I end up having a great workout after all.
Once my 40 minutes of stretching and warming up has kicked in...

Yes, but I find it is just mental. As soon as I get into the workout it disappears. Even when I am a few weeks out and don't feel like doing anything. Once I get going in the gym, the weight moves the same.

I give those days a quick assessment

If it starts to fade as the work out progresses normally ,, i blow it off as some days are diamonds, some are stones

If it stays with me through the work out ,I look to why.

If the book shows it's a one off, I'll do what I can to aid my recovery

If it's a pattern of diminishing returns , its time for a deload.

I can mud through most workouts but damn, squats on Saturday morning can be rough. Fortunately I'm not competing anymore so it's ok to be a little off. There were times I was like, Fuuk I can't knock the rust off but still managed to pull through. We all have them and more and more as we get long in the tooth.
