Jeter still coming through in the clutch for the Yankees. Just traded the NL Homerun king Giancarlo Stanton to the Yankees for essentially nothing and paired him with the AL homerun champ Judge....Judge and Stanton hit 111 homeruns between them last year. A ton of strikeouts between them as well... But should be some moonshots again this year in the Bronx..Its good to be the king.

Shades of Ruth-Gehrig, apprx. 90 yrs later.

Don't follow NBA too much, but didn't former Celtic Kevin McHale become GM in Minneapolis and gift wrap Kevin Garnett over to the Celtics a few yrs back?

And another thought . . . A Rod was a super star maybe heading for an all time HR record a few yrs back, played SS for whatever team he got traded from. Jeter was the reigning SS when A Rod came over, A Rod got a richer contract, but Jeter was "Mr Yankee." Jeter kept the SS job, A Rod had to move to 3rd.
Wonder about similar intangibles this time around. Judge has built up a cult following in NY, example being that Judge's Jury Box section they put up in the outfield seats. How will the NY fans react to this, will the 2 stars bond or be edgy around each other, time will tell. Ruth and Gehrig did not get along, but it didn't affect their play any.
