Obviously the whole thing is a marketing play that I don't understand. Target has been courting the gay dollar for years now and I get that, there's money there. However I can't imagine that the trans dollar is that large. My family has been shopping at Taget for a long time, he'll my wife and daughter treat it as a second home. I have never seen a line of transgender people standing at the customer service desk complaining about the bathroom situation. I'm not worried about predators, they will be around regardless of urinals.
Again, to be clear, I have no problem with transgender adults. To each his or her own. My problem is with target. If they were really concerned about this it wouldn't be such a big deal.

I agree that transgender adults have been using the bathrooms of the gender they're pretending to be, and no one has likely noticed too much. But these rules are much broader, and instead allow a potential predator, dressed like a normal dude, to "identify" for the moment as a woman, in order to enter the ladies room and be a peeping tom or to sexually assault a vulnerable person.

While a predator could always have entered a ladies room before, it would have been immediately reported and security would be there to "escort" him out of the store, and perhaps press charges. Now the person who reports the predator entering the ladies room is a hateful bigot. Funny how that went....

We have a transgender at one of the gyms I go to. He comes into the mens room, dressed fully as a woman.

I have no issue with that. He doesn't blink an eye, and honestly I have to say it is mostly out of fear, and in a way I feel bad, because you can tell this person has various issues. But women in the gym have made it very clear that they want him in our bathroom. And I have to agree.

Meanwhile, I won't send my daughter into a Female public restroom alone, I take her into the male restroom. There are too many sick individuals in this world to leave the most valuable person in my life in any danger. I don't think transgenders will be the issue, but the perverted males this invites to abuse this system. This is what they are missing imo.

I think Target is dead wrong on this. Trying to play the political card, not looking at what is best for the "majority" of women. I just see this as another breach of privacy that the Gov't is seeking. Then they play the card that if you disagree, then "you" are homophobic, you are gender biased, you are racist, so "Americans" beg them for "equality."

I totally agree with this. You can disagree with Target's policy because it puts women at greater risk without hating anyone.

I can only imagine where this is going in public school systems. Can you imagine what you would have done as a 9th grade boy if you were able to self identify as a female on Tuesday for gym class for the express purpose of seeing that hot girl in your class in her underwear? I would have given that the college try, and as a father of a young lady, I think that's ridiculous....
