This right here. I don't back squat anymore, but once in a blue moon. Degenerative disk disease just makes the recovery too long for what I do, bodybuilding. I don't want to miss training or have to take it easy, because I did back squat that I could have easily replaced with a SSB, Hatfield, Hack, Leg Press, etc... Legs are strong AF. There isn't a machine in the gym I don't max out, full ROM with a slow tempo for double digit reps. It got to the point I started doing single legs on hack squats and I am already up to 6 pps for 8 reps. However, I did back squats this week and when I pulled 600 lbs off the rack, I was like, "Holy fuck this is heavy." Walking it out I wasn't sure I would hit it then when I got into position, it felt like nothing. My legs could have handled another 150-200 lbs with ease. However, my back and CNS would have tapped out with another 50 lbs.
