If you can Squat 500, you should be able to power clean 225 for more than 1 rep (i'm just throwing out some numbers here).

If you can clean 315, you are one bad ass mofo.

(If I remember reading correctly, Jim Wendler can't clean 315, that is a goal of his. So, that may give you a frame of reference. He can squat 600+ raw, deadlift 600+ raw, bench 400+ raw and I know he can Military press 225 for reps.)

I'm training the DL tomorrow, I'll do some power cleans as part of my warmup. If I can clean 225, then I'll let you know.

I did not attempt to Clean 225. I was warming up for it, but when I got to that weight, I wasn't 100% sure I would catch it, and I wasn't set up to drop it if necessary (no bumper plates).

185, I could clean for an easy 3, definitely 5, maybe 7x. So, it is possible that I could Clean 225. Hope that helps.

I really enjoy doing power cleans, I did them all the time in high school and they really helped my explosiveness. I could do 225 lbs in high school at about 155 lbs, but I'd be curious what I could do now that im close to 30 lbs heavier and much stronger. I don't do them in my workout but I did 185 lbs 5 times with no wrist straps a few months ago.

When you say power clean, are you pulling it from the floor or from a hanging position? 225 is a good number for anyone who doesnt do them on a regular basis. Remember when pulling from the floor, start slow and finish fast. The real explosive part of the lift doesnt happen until you are at knee level. I think its great to see some many lifters throwing some explosive lifts in these days. Grip and rip brother.

Yep, Most people dont know the dif, thats the only reason I brought it up. Great movement forsure. While we are on the topic of oly lifts, anyone do any overhead squats? Havent done them in years but, man were they a bitch. Never been so sore in my life.
