What do you look for in a pre workout

Hi guys,

I'm sure you all have a wealth of knowledge and I would like to tap into that.

As members of this site I was hoping you could help?

I would like to know what you all look for in a pre work out.

I'm sure your answers will be varied but I would like to know why you look for what you do and possibly a little bit about yourself too.

Any help would be great.

Class this as market research if you will ...appreciate the help everyone.

Hi sir, my pre workout meal is 400gr fish and 350gr white rice, before i did this meal i did another pre workout meal and that whas 12egg whites and 350gr white rice but it didnt felt good when i whas training, the egg whites make me throw up and dizzy, so i changed it to fish thats perfect for me.
Whats now your pre workout meal?

150-200mg Caffeine (or none for night sessions)

47yrs 5'7" 215-220 Offseason & 190-195lb LHW Bodybuilder. Stimulant sensitive and most preworkouts are "boner killers" for me after 5pm ;)

I don't like a pre-workout with Stims , gets me to wound up . So Stim Free is for me .
Big Noise from Redcon1 is excellent !
War Machine is another !
And I do like Shock Therapy !!!

So now a pic isn't enough we have to qualify, so be it.
I am a 80%er. My year round goal is 10.5%, 227lbs at 5-11". I have been at this for 42 years. 30 of those years I worked in 20-115 degrees weather hanging sheetrock or wood/metal framing aka busting my ass.

I've never purposely cut below 9% so I don't what that is like. Perhaps I would try something.

So here is my preworkout: I grab my sack with both hands and say FUCK IT ten times and remind myself I'll rest once I stop lifting and walk out of the gym.

Current stats 10.2, 224, 55 years old. 140mgs TP: 40mgs EOD + 1 Black Top/2 pins E5D.

Stopped with the PWO supps years ago. Most of them are just caffeine, creatine and beta-alanine. If you want to take those supps just buy generic ones and save your money.

I get up at 5am to train before work so I will either have a 5-hour energy or just take a caffeine pill or two.

On weekends when I have more time it's just coffee.

I hung rock for 15 years myself from 15 to 30 yrs old... topping out with 5/8ths rock built up my shoulders and neck real fast as a youngster along with lifting of course which i started at 15 also. Past 23 years been an HVAC tech in FLA working in 140 degree attics..What im getting at is never needed to do a serious cutter or preworkout shit. 35 years in construction keeps your BF very manageable. Was never a big doser with the gear either. Always did and still do just enough at lowest dose possible to get results. Im 5-11" 225-230 all year long. TRT and blast once or twice a year and 3iu/day hgh pretty much year round i try.

Beta-alanine, creatine, and caffeine are the main ingredients I look for. I use Optimum Nutrition's pre-workout mix. It covers all of those bases.
