I can gat 1 finger completely over the thumb. The 2nd is pushing on the thumb nail. I've watched a couple of Video's, but maybe I'm watching the wrong ones. If you have a link to a good one. Let me know. I train alone and don't know anyone who uses the hook grip personally.

You can tape your thumb which will help hold the bar as well as make it a bit less painful. I can only get 2 fingers over my thumb so it's not like I'm getting several fingers over my thumb. I don't just bend my thumb bring it over as close to my pinky as I wrap the bar. That allows me to get 2 fingers over my thumb and even a bit of my third.

I'll see if I can find a vid. If not, I'll just make one b/c many here haven't had the pleasure of training at an Oly facility so they never learned how to properly pull with a hook grip.

and to PoB... you can pull with a hook grip if you stop being a baby. You just have to set it up correctly.

I did my opener monday at 485lb. Then did 2nd attempt of 2in blocks at 520lb.

I did pull 500 from the floor 2 months ago
