Haha. It is all good brother. That is my personal preference for top end of body fat. Some guys like to get a little fluffier. I find that my gains slow tremendously once I get over 15%, so I will do a quick mini cut (2-4 weeks) to get me back to a comfortable level. That newly accrued fat comes of quick AF. I started a mini cut Monday and I am already down 17 lbs, almost all water, but the look is drastically different. Looks like I am in prep again.

The beauty of discipline is it comes in all shapes and sizes and goals. This thread is awesome for highlighting that. We’re all talking about discipline in the end, and giving our reasons for why we have it. I want people to look at me and say “that guy works hard”. They say the same thing about you and your 5%bf, and so do I.

It used to be called respect.

You are doing awesome brother!

Can you wear sweats and it still looks like you train your ass off? If the answer is, yes, then you are doing pretty damn good.

I want to set a good example for my kids so they see exercise as being important to good mental & physical health. I want that to translate to their kids & to their kids’ kids so I create generational change by being the jacked great grandpa that’s not only hella loving but very involved in their lives.
The kids sit on the steps when I lift and watch when we baby sit ,, its fucking awesome. "WOW!! Nanna Grampy's strong !!" I know he is .... haaahahaaha pr after pr with a smile.

I love to eat....lots of food, lol. If i don't train, my eating goes to crap and the 'lots of food' part takes a toll on my appearance. So that is the main reason.....so I look good.

That said, I feel better as well.....energy, strength, self-esteem, confidence, sleep, and it fights any depressive moods I get.

I'd prob be an alcholic or drug addict if I didn't train. Just have that kind of personality. It's my outlet.

Also like setting a good example for my sons. My older 2 are now athletes and big into the gym now. They are football players and do in season lifting twice a week before school. I was still in the gym at 6:15 this morning, and got a call from my 8th grader gushing that he just benched a plate for a PR.

My oldest is a junior and he's blown past me in strength and size...which is a good thing. But I have to keep training so they know...at the end of the day - dad will still beat your ass like a redheaded step child.

Last, and old me would have never thought I'd ever say this - I'm in my mid-40's now. Staying healthy is a priority.

You look like shit. Whatever you're doing, you're wasting your time. I recommend you stop lifting and take up golf.
(Ok that was just my selfish attempt to hopefully try to close that gap)

Honestly brother, that's just an awesome job. Crushing it still at 40!

Honestly, fear. Fear of being normal and blending into a crowd.

One day it will end and when it does, I'll just spend more time with my other hobbies.
You still have a Dog or more? They're not hobbies ... they're cardio.

It's all I have. Without this , i'm just some old guy without a purpose and I go back to staring out the window waiting.
This is it for me, too. Can't think of much else to do with my time other than sitting in a bar or something like most the rest of my peers.
