My old man has a signed Mickey mantle rookie card in phenomenal condition, not to mention a picture of the Yaz, Ted Williams, and Mickey Mantle (famous photo of the three of them at an all star game) and they all three signed it for him and handed it back to him. He was just a kid and kept the stuff in the best condition possible. No clue on value now but he’ll never sell. He’ll pass them to me and then I’ll be faced with the age-old dilemma of when to, or if ever to, sell memorabilia.

He should get that card graded by PSA. Its unreal how much those cards are worth nowadays. And it's signed? $500K very possible, if not more depending on condition.. 52 mantle graded 1(poor) goes for $10K. I follow cards on Ebay, a Tom Brady rookie card went for like $375K. They only made 100 of them with this particular set, and they were numbered.

This guy wants $500K for his mantle rookie signed, and his card condition is 5.5(EX+)

I think there is only three PSA 10 Mickey Mantle and one sold for $2.9Million.. LOL

You'd be shocked at the variety of shit I read.
Anime porn to ancient philosophy. Man of great intelligence.
Philosophy is the chicken soup of the soul and worth reading the ancient Greek philosophical texts.

I still like wrenching on Jap/Brit/Harley bikes, don't ride much anymore. I'm putting a little Bar Hopper Sportster together for Spring maybe sell it or put it on the "pile" in my back shed (got 3 old builds collecting dust already)...I just hate to part with any of them.

He’s happily retired and brings in more than enough money monthly. He’s mentioned before that he would never sell, etc etc.

But I don’t think he realized he could buy a giant Hatteras or Viking with that card either.

Gonna talk to him about it tomorrow. Been telling him for years to get it graded but he’s scared to death to send it off. Old school “gold bars under the bed” kinda guy.

So tell me more about Krav Maga. Is it really as good as some say or is it useless like others say?

karate judo, boxing and realistic fighting training aka combat fighting Krav is a different beast
its about survial not just beating someone
in all other systems ---safety is #1
when u use krav --its about living or death....plain and simple
its not in a ring or on the street bets be made

there are no rules

ive trained more SAD/SOG and Para guys then i can count and they all say its better than all the others they have learned ---why?
I have little women that love it more so

simple-- no rules--its about life n death

bite ur ass
fish hook
eye gouge
u name it i will use it

if you want to spar you are wasting Krav and limiting its capabilities

john wick and a pencil bro!!! lol

its just a tool to add

So....bodybuilding is my 1st priority hobby as of late.

I once had a hobby of being a Jeep Girl. Still am...meaning i have the jeeps. But don't do wheeling any longer. Kinda sad, because its so freeing and all. So I have a 00' TJ, w/4.5" lift and 33" tires in my driveway that I gave away to my nephew as a 16th bday present that he has yet to pick up lol. Now my DD (daily driver) is a Jeep Grand Cherokee or the Dodge Ram 1500 we have.

I want a Harley Davidson hobby so bad. To get my own bike and all. That is on my list still. Speaking of which I should prioritize that puppy and get one this year!

I would hand deliver a card like that to PSA. They are out of California, or just take it to one of the card shows. They will grade the card on the spot, cost extra, but a card like that, its well worth it.

But I can understand holding onto the card. If you're already loaded with money, and don't need it, I would prob keep it too. Then again, everyone has their price. It would be best to sell that card via auction if he were to sell it.

I guess I don't really have a hobby besides listening to all types of music. I don't collect anything (purposely) even though when I was a kid I had one the greatest baseball and comic book collections.

I guess hiking and camping can be called a hobby, but I look at these as a release. Good thread though.
