I'm curious Yano, what were the most formative books for young Yano?
Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand
Moby Dick - Herman Melville
Stranger in a Strange Land - Robert A Heinlein ( yes I grock )
The Art of War - Sun Tzu
The Book of Five Rings - Miyamoto Musashi
Winnie the Pooh - A.A. Milne
Peanuts - Charles M Schultz

There are others as I got older , War and Peace , Flowers of Evil , the works of Shakespeare.

Ah, nice. I'll admit I never read much of Shakespeare. Stranger in a strange land was a big one for me, like the Art Of War. Read most of Ayn Rand.

Machiavelli is a must read.

The book that started me out on my path was Letters From The Earth. Read this when I was 10. I followed up on that by reading Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment, followed by every other Dostoyevsky book and then Toystoy.

It Can't Happen Here was another pivotal book.

Then I got into philosophy, Thus Spake Zarathustra and all the existential works of Sartre, Kierkegaard, Camus. Some of my favorites.

"My Mother died today, or maybe it was yesterday, I don't know. I received a telegram from the old peoples home; 'Mother deceased, funeral tomorrow, very sincerely yours.' That doesn't mean anything, It might have been yesterday."

Camus ... how The Stranger opens .........

I went to my 30 year a few years ago. I invited a female classmate to meet me there after chatting with her on Facebook for a couple months. I only got a kiss that night but we are still together 6 years later.

Being into lifting and kind of lean at the time I thought I'd make a good impression. Well, there were a couple pretty jacked guys. I was the one who was impressed.

Faces I recognized but I needed nametags.

After the reunion we bar hopped until bar time. It was a very fun night.

We didn't do a 20 year due to COVID, so I heard rumors of a 25th but nothing else yet. Of the few people I've bumped into since then, what you said about how your class looks now is about accurate.
