Daniel Peter Mead was on strict bail and already facing serious drug smuggling charges when police raided his Warilla home last Friday.

What officers allegedly found in the space of a few hours that afternoon landed the 29-year-old with a further nine charges to his name and the prospect of spending months on remand in a NSW correctional facility.

That fear came true on Monday when Magistrate Mark Douglass refused Mead's application for bail, citing a long list of reasons why he should be kept out of the community.

Even the promise of a $20,000 surety deposit by Mead's mother failed to persuade Magistrate Douglass to grant the application.

Court documents reveal police attached to Strike Force Raptor and the national anti-gangs taskforce raided Mead's recently renovated home on Lake Entrance Road just before 2pm, combing their way through the house, backyard and garage looking for evidence of drugs, namely amphetamines and steroids.

Police allege they found large amounts of drug paraphernalia and drug-making equipment stashed throughout the property, as well as 370 grams of a powder believed to be a steroid agent, vials of a yellow liquid also believed to be a steroid agent, a small amount of cocaine and bottles of chemicals typically used in the manufacturing of drugs.

Police also claim to have discovered dozens of Australia Post bags and tracking labels, hundreds of custom-made labels in the name of "Globalanabolic Company Ltd", a ledger containing names and specific steroids and hundreds of empty capsules and glass vials.

Other items police allegedly seized from the property included 14 fraudulent driver's licences without the holographic crest, six separate holographic crests and about 100 blank white cards police said could be used to create fake IDs.

Mead was arrested and charged with drug manufacturing, possessing a tablet press, supplying indictable quantities of drugs, dealing with suspected proceeds of crime, possessing equipment to make false documentation and possessing equipment to make identity information.

He did not enter pleas on Monday.

The case was adjourned to July 28 for mention.

Mead's other charges, relating to accusations he imported illegal anabolic steroids and amphetamines, will be mentioned in a Sydney court later this week.
