Vitamin D and the winter blues

I've found that hitting a tanning bed (gasp!!) mid winter for a 8min session a week does more than Vit D

Good info!
I'm going to start hitting the tanning bed when it's starts getting colder outside. I feel it helps combat depression. Not sure how, but I def feel better after tanning.

It's somewhat sunny year round can always grab a few mins every week.

Deck time, at my house mid day is always sun tanning day. I spend a lot of time out in the sun, just for this reason.

Great question. 10,000 IU of Vitamin D will help greatly. Take 5000 in am and 5000 in pm with meals. The tanning bed is also a great idea, this gets in your system even better. You can get up to 20,000 IU in one session. Eating salmon often will also increase your levels. Vitamin D is now labeled a hormone and it's the only nutrient that is used in every single cell of your body. "D" has so many health benefits I can't even list them all.

Noticed an increase in energy at 5,000 iu a day but it dropped off after about a week. Now I take 5,000iu about every other day as maintenance.

Thanks brother, I knew I felt much better after tanning. I just didn't know why, lol.

Damn I was taking nowhere near enough, thanks to all. Unfortunately its mole season (go to work in the dark and come home in the dark) so getting real sunlight isn't a option. Tanning will depend on how I feel in couple wks

Been taking 4000 iu daily and its making a noticeable difference

I need more than just Vita D, to cure my blues, They have placed the pharmacy on high alert. Ill be headed there today day to bet my shipment... lol
